History
Automated Graphic Imaging (AGI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Automated Graphic Systems (AGS), opened in downtown Washington, DC in 1992. Our goal is to provide quality electronic pre-press services, photocopying and printing products and creative design solutions to the Washington business and association communities. We also wanted to provide a home base for our AGS sales force that would allow them to better serve our downtown customers.
In February 1999, AGS and AGI became one of 63 companies to join the Consolidated Graphics, Inc. (CGX) network of printers (www.consolidatedgraphics.com) (NYSE: CGX). Consolidated Graphics is considered the largest sheet-fed and half-web printer in the country. They have annualized revenues in excess of $700 million. CGX generally operates as an independent holding company.
